Who Are We?
Mission Without Borders South Africa is an International Christian, non-profit, organisation based in Orange Grove, Johannesburg. Our Head office is situated in Camarillo, U.S.A. with affiliates in Canada, Australia, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
MWB has been working in Eastern Europe and China since 1960, responding to the 
material and spiritual needs of people living in poverty, or suffering persecution. Our work started when the Cold War was at it’s most intense. In Eastern Europe, a rigid political system had demanded strict loyalty, and those who dared to disagree suffered imprisonment or death. Literally millions of Christians were persecuted for their beliefs and many paid with their lives.
When the Berlin wall came down and the Soviet empire crumbled, our mission broadened it’s focus. Suddenly, the whole world became aware of the misery in Eastern Europe. We all looked in disbelief at the TV images of the Romanian orphanages, the nuclear catastrophe in Chernobyl, the depleted economies, and the broken hearts and destroyed lives.
So we adjusted and designed a number of more comprehensive and relevant programmes to meet the needs of children, families and communities suffering the indignities of poverty, abandonment, displacement and sickness. These programmes extend to Romania, Albania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Bosnia, and Ukraine.
We employ only local staff as they have a good understanding of the culture and language of their own countries, and, of course, it’s cost effective.
Our activities in China continue under difficult and dangerous circumstances.
We receive our support from individual donors, companies and churches. Auditors, Anderson Rochussen and van der Bijl Inc. C.A. (S.A) audit the S.A. Affiliate on an annual basis and a copy of our audited annual report is available upon request.
