DIRECTION OF THE MWB MINISTRY IN CHINA
China still remains a communist country and, as such, Christians still suffer persecution. Believers are imprisoned and tortured for operating illegal home churches and have been driven underground where they are at constant risk. This is particularly true of the poor minorities in southwest China.

Although economic reforms have been made to encourage foreign investment, the abuse of human rights continues.

In China, as during the communist era in Eastern Europe, the Mission serves as a voice for the underground Christians. We support Christian leadership and discipleship training and help our partners print and distribute Bibles and Christian literature. The Mission has also established a hardship fund for families of harassed and imprisoned Christian leaders.
