Back to School

Although many children are excited when a new school year starts, marginalized families often feel anxious as they have to prioritize food over school.

Our Backpack campaign this year will see approximately 7 608 backpacks with school supplies given to vulnerable children at the start of their academic year. This lifts a huge burden off families struggling to put food on the table and cannot afford these extra expenses. It also gives the children confidence that they are fully equipped for school, motivates them to attend, and helps ensure they don’t drop out of school.

A Home from Home

Our After-School Programme provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for vulnerable children.  Here they receive a hot, nutritious meal and support with their school work. They are also given emotional and spiritual support and for many, After School is a home from home, a place where they feel loved and accepted.

Last year, we were able to support 450 children through this vital programme.

A Dream Come True

For many children, an expensive degree feels like an impossible dream.

To set young people on a path to a brighter future, we offer free Vocational Courses to all who cannot afford to pay for technical school. These include the English Language, IT, Agriculture (Beekeeping, farming), hairdressing, seamstress courses, motor mechanics, and cooking.

We also offer Scholarships to gifted and vulnerable children enabling them to pursue an education and fulfil their full potential.

Last year, we were able to support 683 Scholarship students through this life-changing initiative.

A gift of R350 would cover the costs of one month’s After-School support for one child
