In Eastern Europe, winter is a battle for survival for the poor. With temperatures plummeting to -15°C, rising costs, and scarce work, vulnerable families and elderly individuals face unimaginable hardships. Like Dumitru, a 70-year-old in Moldova who lives alone in a drafty garage, struggling to make ends meet on a small pension.

For over 60 years, Mission Without Borders has served the poorest with love, compassion, and care, to provide lifesaving support including warm blankets, firewood, and food parcels—and, just as importantly, emotional and spiritual care. “I feel happy when Valentina comes to visit me. I have a sense of inner peace because we pray together," Dumitru shares.
